About
My name is Jackson, and I make things.
Towards the end of my time in college, a friend was showing me his latest creation - something he made in his spare time, not for any particular class or club. I think it might have been a 3D printer that ‘printed’ icing on cupcakes, I don’t remember. What I do remember is realizing that there was nothing stopping me from being a person who just makes things, and that I really wanted to be that kind of person.
So when I’m not coaching or at my day job, I’m typically working on some sort of side project. They range wildly in scope - board games, mathematical simulations, light fixtures, Android apps, clocks - really whatever else holds my interest at the time. Some of these projects were gifts, some I sell, a few have produced job offers, and all of them have taught me a lot about art, design, and engineering. Few of them are photogenic enough to make an appearance on this site, but I still love to talk about them (please ask me about my jack-o-lanterns, I have many stories).
